Default A new chocolate cake recipe to share

Yesterday, we went to a "cake" reception for a young couple that just got married. They literally had 30 different types of cakes there. It was a pretty neat idea

Anyway, we discovered a "new"/old cake I'd never heard of it before -- a black magic cake. It's made with coffee and buttermilk (and, btw, if you don't have buttermilk, you can substitute 1 Tbsp of white vinegar to one cup of milk). Apparently, you can ice it however you want. The lady who made the cake made two of them -- one, she just layered with chocolate icing and had chocolate icing on top. The 2nd, she used raspberry jam between the layers, iced it with chocolate icing and made a "well" of the chocolate icing on the top and then put raspberry jam on the top. Oh my goodness!!!!! Mattie said it was the BEST cake she'd ever tasted!!! and Jim came close to agreeing. It was WONDERFUL and moist and utterly delicious!!!

    Here's the recipe:

Makes me think of red velvet, except more cocoa and no food coloring, which is a total win!

I don't really care who did it. I just want you to clean it up.
